Background: 3-aminobenzamide can sensitize cells to radiation in vitro by inhibiting the repair of DNA damage, presumably via PARP inhibition. 3-aminobenzamide is currently in phase 2 clinical trials and has shown positive effects for stroke, myocardial infarction, GI tract inflammation, and diabetic endothelial dysfunction.
Biological Activity: 3-aminobenzamide is a novel potent PARP inhibitor with an IC50 of ~30 µM. Exhibits IC50 of < 50 nM in CHO cells.
CAS Number: 3544-24-9
Description: 3-aminobenzamide is a novel, potent inhibitor of PARP. Also acts as a mediator of oxidant-induced myocyte dysfunction during reperfusion.
