Notes: Brain natriuretic peptide-32 (BNP-32) is a peptide fragment of the cardiovascular hormone precursor proBNP.{68547} It binds to natriuretic peptide receptors on rat vascular smooth muscle cells (IC50 = 7.3 nM) and induces cGMP accumulation in the same cells (EC50 = 170 nM). BNP-32 induces relaxation of norepinephrine-precontracted isolated rat aortic strips (EC50 = 6.7 nM). It increases urine and urinary electrolyte excretion and induces hypotension in rats when administered at a dose of 3 µg/kg.
