Immunogen: Neurokinin A/Substance K (Peninsula), conjugated to BSA
Concentration: n/a
Storage buffer: Lyophilized; reconstitute in 100 µl dist. water
Additional info: Neurokinin A/Substance K represents a member of the tachykinin family of peptides. Neurokinin A, which arises by cleavage of the substance P precursor, occurs in neurons in the central and peripheral nervous systems, and is particularly numerous in the gastrointestinal tract. The biological actions of neurokinin A are similar to those of substance P, and include vasodilation and stimulation of smooth muscle contraction.
Absorption with 10-100 ug NKA per ml diluted antiserum abolishes the staining, while substance P does not.Positive control: formalin-fixed paraffin sections of rat colon.
