Applications: Useful for blocking NGF binding to its receptor in biochemical and cellular assays.

Assay Conditions: The Anti-NGF Antibody was evaluated using TrkA-SRE (Luc)- HEK293 cell line (BPS Bioscience #79798). NGF (500 pM at final concentration) was incubated with various concentrations of Anti-NGF Antibody in the assay medium (Opti-MEM) for 45 min. at room temperature and added to the cells. After 5 hour incubation at 37°C, ONE-Step™ Luciferase Assay System (BPS Bioscience #60690) was used to measure the luciferase activity.

Background: NGF is a neurotrophic factor (NTF) that is involved in growth, proliferation and survival of neurons. Anti-NGF monoclonal antibodies are in clinical trials as a chronic pain control medicine.

Cross Reactivity: This antibody has not been tested for cross-reactivity with any other species.
