Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was raised by immunizing a C57Bl/6 mouse with the antigen peptide SOD1G93A.

Specificity Statement: This antibody recognized SOD1A4V, SOD1H46R, SOD1G85R, SOD1G93A, and SOD1I112M, but not SOD1WT. Further the antibody did not recognize SOD1 in patients with sporadic ALS or other neurodegenerative diseases.

Application Notes (Clone): The original antibody was used for immunohistochemistry on spinal cord sections from patients with FALS. This antibody was used in vivo on transgenic rats with SOD1H46R mutation. The treatment improved phenotypes and extended the lifespan of the rats. This antibody was used for an ELISA on recombinant protein SOD1G93A (Minamiyama et al., 2023; PMID:36874245).
