Application: Useful for studying cell surface expression of TCR αβ by flow cytometry.

Assay Conditions: One million PBMC cells (BPS Bioscience #79059) were blocked and stained with 1 µg of anti-TCR αβ antibody, PE-labeled (BPS Bioscience #102387) or PE Human IgG1 Isotype Control Recombinant Antibody (BioLegend #403503) for 30 minutes on ice, washed three times, and analyzed by flow cytometry. TCR αβ expression (green) was compared to staining with an isotype control (blue). Y-axis is the cell count. X-axis is PE intensity.

Background: TCR is a protein complex found on the surface of T cells. They are crucial for recognizing and binding to specific antigens presented by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules on the surface of antigen-presenting cells. TCRs are divided into two main types depending on their subunits: alpha beta and gamma delta. The alpha beta TCR is the most common and plays a major role in recognizing peptides presented by MHC class I and II molecules. The interaction between alpha beta TCR and MHC complex initiates intracellular signals that activate T cells that lead to various immune responses including cytotoxicity, helper functions and memory formation. Dysregulation of TCR signaling can lead to various diseases. Defects in TCR signaling can lead to immune deficiency while hyperactivation can lead to autoimmune diseases. TCR T cell therapy has become a prominent field of research.

Cross Reactivity: This antibody recognizes human T-cell receptor alpha/beta (TCR α/β). It has not been tested in other species.

Description: This anti-human TCR αβ (T cell receptor alpha beta) antibody is a purified recombinant antibody, which is labeled with R-Phycoerythrin (PE). This antibody has been tested by flow cytometry for binding to human TCR αβ on the surface of Normal Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells, Frozen (#79059).

Format: Aqueous buffer solution.

Formulation: 8 mM Phosphate, pH 7.4, 110 mM NaCl, 2.2 mM KCl, 0.09% Sodium Azide, 0.2% BSA, and up to 20% glycerol. May contain a protein stabilizer.

Purification: Protein A affinity chromatography from HEK293 supernatants.
