Background: BCKDK (Branched chain ketoacid dehydrogenase kinase) is a mitochondrial kinase found at high levels in skeletal muscle. BCKDK phosphorylates and inactivates BCKD, leading to an increase in branched amino acids. Abnormal activity of this enzyme leads to diseases such as maple syrup urine disease and cachexia.

Description: Recombinant human BCKDK (Branched chain ketoacid dehydrogenase kinase), from amino acid 30 to end. In this construct the N-terminal end of the protein is fused to GST. The protein was affinity purified.
