Specificity Statement: This antibody is specific for amino acids 115 to 119 in the E2 A domain of VEEV.
Application Notes (Clone): The human IgG1 version of this antibody was used for an ELISA on six VEEV subtypes (Hunt et al., 2010; PMID:20644615), and on VEEV TC-83 (Hunt et al., 2011; PMID:21489591). The human IgG1 version of this antibody was used for a competitive binding assay on VEEV TC-83, to show that it can block other known neutralizing antibodies (Hunt et al., 2010; PMID:20644615). The structure of a fab fragment of this antibody was determined using cryo-EM (Porta et al., 2014; PMID:24920796). The prophylactic ability of this antibody was tested on mice, here mice were incubated with this antibody after which an attempt was made to infect them with VEEV. It showed prophylactic ability in this experiment (Hunt et al., 2011; PMID:21489591)(Schwedler et al., 2024; PMID:38170638). Further this antibody was used for immunohistochemistry on brains from treated and untreated mice (Hunt et al., 2011; PMID:21489591).
