Notes: Hispidol is an aurone originally isolated from soybeans that has diverse biological activities.{65623,65624,65625,65626} It is an inhibitor of tyrosinase, monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A), and MAO-B (IC50s= 38.4, 0.26, and 2.45 µM, respectively).{65623,65625} Hispidol (50 µM) increases catalase and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in cell-free assays, as well as decreases intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) in, and increases the lifespan of, C. elegans.{65626} It decreases immobility time in forced swim and tail suspension tests in mice when administered at a dose of 2, 5, and 15 mg/kg.{65625}
