Recombinant proteins are commonly labeled with affinity tags, such as HA, which corresponds to amino acids 98 to 106 from human influenza hemagglutinin (HA), to facilitate both their detection and purification.{60247} HA tags are commonly utilized because of their small size, low potential to interfere in protein folding or activity, and strong immunoreactivity.
