Background: Influenza virus is a single-stranded RNA virus, segmented, 70nm in diameter and enveloped. Strains are described by geographic origin, strain number, year of isolation and hemagglutination (H) and neuraminidase (N) antigens.
Immunogen: Allantoic fluid of 10 days old embryonated eggs, inoculated with influenza A virus, strain A/ New Caledonia/20/99 IVR 116. The Influenza Virus was purified by Ultracentrifugation with 10-40 % sucrose gradient.
Purification Method: Purified by RP-HPLC, FPLC, or reducing/non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stain; Purified by ultracentrifugation using 10-40% sucrose gradient.
Purity: 90%.
Formulation: Supplied as a liquid in STE, 0.1% sodium azide, 0.005% merthiolate.
