Additional info: VU-11D1 reacts with the protein core of MUC1, an apical cell side epithelial marker which is upregulated or switched on in the majority of carcinomas. The dominant epitope of VU11D1 is TSAPDTRP, located in the VNTR domain of MUC1. Binding of VU-11D1 is enhanced after glycosylation of the DTR motif.
