Additional info: MUC4 (mucin 4) is a large membrane-anchored glycoprotein of the mucin family that is expressed by epithelial cells in various normal tissues including lung, bronchus, stomach, colon, and cervix. MUC4 is generally not detected in normal pancreas, but is expressed in the vast majority of pancreatic neoplasms, such as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Additionally, expression in various carcinomas has been reported, including gastric adenocarcinoma, colon adenocarcinoma, and lung adenocarcinoma.
