Notes: N6,N6-Dimethyladenosine is a modified nucleoside.{62681} It has been found in tRNA isolated from M. bovis. Dimethylation of adjacent adenosine nucleosides (m62Am62A) is found in E. coli 16S rRNA and is important for the initiation of protein synthesis.{62682} N6,N6-Dimethyladenosine inhibits the proliferation of L1210 leukemia cells in vitro (IC50 = 0.5 µg/ml) but does not have antitumor activity in vivo.{62682} It is also a component of the antibiotic and protein synthesis inhibitor puromycin (Item No. 13884).
