Description: Nerve growth factor is important for the development and maintenance of the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems. It stimulates division and differentiation of sympathetic and embryonic sensory neurons. (www.uniprot.org) Produced in submaxillary gland of grown mouse. Homodimer, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 2 x 120 amino acids. The ED50 (cell proliferation assay) is typically 0.3 - 1 ng/ml.
