Additional info: Amylin or islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP) is produced in the pancreas beta cells and co-released with insulin. The amino acid sequence shows great homology with CGRP. Amylin has been shown to reverse insulin inhibition of hepatic gluconeogenesis and to inhibit muscle uptake of glucose.Positive control: Formalin-fixed paraffin and frozen sections of human or rat pancreas.
