Background: The immunogen used was a recombinant protein containing chick transforming growth factor type II receptor region a.a.27-85. Epithelial-mesenchymal transformation is a critical event in the development of many organ systems including heart. Transforming Growth Factor (TGF ) is one of a number of factors that mediates this transformation. Antibodies directed against TGF Type II receptor block both the endicardial cell activation and subsequent migration that constitute transformation in the chick atrioventricular (AV) cushion.
Positive Control: Recombinant proteins conjugated to OVA, GST, His tags and other. Native TGF beta II proteins.
