Description: Human recombinant Interferon-a 2b produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 165 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 19269 Dalton. The Pegylated IFN-a 2b is produced by attaching a 20kDa mPEG-aldehyde to the N-terminal IFN alpha-2b. IFN-alpha is produced by macrophages and has antiviral activities. Interferon stimulates the production of two enzymes: protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase.
