Zellkultur
Die Kultivierung von Zellen tierischen oder pflanzlichen Ursprungs außerhalb des Organismus in einem geeigneten Nährmedium wird als Zellkultur bezeichnet. Kultivieren kann man Zelllinien, also immortalisierte Zellen oder Primärzellen. Zum Einsatz kommen Zellkulturen in der medizinischen und biologischen Grundlagenforschung genauso wie in der Produktion im pharmazeutischen Bereich.
