Scientific Background: CBA is a selective blocker of TRPM4 channels (IC50 = 1.5 M) with no activity at TRPM5, TRPM7, TRPM8, TRPV1, TRPV3, TRPV6 and a panel of other ion channels and receptors (1). Displays protective effects in murine experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis and in a model of glutamate-induced neuronal degeneration (2). A highly useful tool for exploring the functions of TRM4 in a variety of cell types (3,4).
