Background: C-terminal Src kinase (CSK) is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase encoded by the CSK gene and plays a prominent role in immune cells. Upon activation of T cell receptors or B cell receptors, CSK is recruited to the plasma membrane from the cytosol by an adapter protein and phosphorylates tyrosine residues present in the C-terminal end of Src-family kinases to downregulate their activity. Targets of CSK include Scr, Fyn, Yes and lymphocyte-specific protein tyrosine kinase (LCK). Thus, CSK is involved in a wide variety of signal transduction cascades.
Contraindications: The final concentration of DMSO in the assay should not exceed 1%.
