Background: Properdin is a factor of the alternative complement activation pathway. It has a molecular weight of 222,000 and consists of four peptide chains. Properdin is stabilizing the C3 convertase C3bBb. The mean concentration in plasma is 20 mg/ml.
Source: The antigen has been isolated from normal human serum.
Specificity: Monospecific for Properdin.
Formulation: Supplied delipidated, defibrinated and 0.2µm filtered in 0.2M Tris, 0.5M NaCl, pH7.6 with 0.09% NaN3. Total protein and IgG concentrations in the antiserum is approximatly 20 mg/ml.
