Purity and Specificity: Full-length recombinant human p73α was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 cells using an N-Terminal Glutathione-S-Transferase fusion protein. The purity was determined to be >90% by densitometry.
Background: p73α is a member of the p53 family of transcription factors that are involved in cellular responses to stress and development. P73 has high sequence similarity to p53 and p63, which allows p63 and p73 to transactivate p53-responsive genes causing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. P73 is a stress-response gene and a downstream effector in the p53 pathway (1).
