Background: The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc subunits of IgE as tested against rat sera and a panel of purified homogenous immunoglobulins. It does not react with IgG, IgG/Fab fragments, IgM and IgA or any non-Ig protein in rat serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of homogenous IgE in rat serum and other body fluids or to determine its concentration. To prepare an immunoadsorbent for the purification of rat IgE from serum or plasma.
Source: Pools of purified homogenous IgE isolated from pooled rat serum. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Specificity: Precipitating polyclonal Rabbit antiSerum to Rat IgE, Fc specific.
