Target: CD25.
Clone: 7G7B6.
Specificity: Clone 7G7B6 reacts with human CD25.
Purification method: This monoclonal antibody was purified using multi-step affinity chromatography methods such as Protein A or G depending on the species and isotype.
Antigen Distribution: IL-2Rα is expressed on activated mature T and B lymphocytes, during early stages of thymocytes development, pre-B cells, and in activated CD4+ memory T-lymphocytes.
Background: CD25 (IL-2Rα) is the 55 kDa subunit of the interleukin 2 receptor alpha chain which has been shown to play roles in lymphocyte differentiation, activation, and proliferation. IL-2Rα is a transmembrane glycoprotein comprised of a heavily glycosylated extracellular domain, a transmembrane region and a short cytoplasmic tail. IL-2Rα heterodimerizes with IL-2Rβ (CD122) and IL-2Rγ (CD132) and forms the IL-2 receptor complex. IL-2Rα by itself binds IL-2 with relatively low affinity, while the IL-2 receptor complex binds IL-2 with high affinity. IL-2Rα mutations cause severe immunodeficiency.
