Background: The antibody is well suited to detect Borrelia in tissue slices and tissue extracts. Borrelia burgdorferi is a species of bacteria belonging to the class of spirochetes. Borrelia burgdorferi is the agent of Lyme Disease, a vector-borne disease transmitted by ticks (Ixodes ricinus and Ixodes dammini). Borrelia is widely distributed in North America and Europe. Borrelia burgdorferi, cross-reactivity with Borrelia hermsii and Borrelia parkerii as well as Treponema pallidum. In Western blotting bands are seen at 83kDa, 41kDa, 34kDa, 31kDa. Additional lower MW bands may also be observed. .

Immunogen: Cell preparation of Borrelia burgdorferi
