The aortic valve is a valve in the human heart between the left ventricle and the aorta. The valve undergoes exceptional forces due to blood flow during each cardiac cycle. The two primary cell types in the aortic valve are the aortic valve endothelial cells (HAoVEC) which provide the barrier function as the valve opens and closes and the valvular interstitial Cells (hVIC) which provide the structural integrity of the valve. Lonza’s Human Aortic Valve Endothelial Cells (hAoVEC) are provided as a made to order product by Lonza’s CellBio Services custom cell isolation team. Cryopreserved Human Aortic Valve Endothelial Cells (hAoVEC) are tested for expression levels of Factor VIII and Alpha Smooth Muscle Actin, viability, plating efficiency, and doubling time. All cells test negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi. HIV-1, hepatitis B and hepatitis C are not detected for all donors and/or cell lots. A Certificate of Analysis is provided for each cell lot purchased. This product can be provided on its own or as a matched set with Human Valvular Interstitial Cells (hVIC; part number 00225974). This product is also customizable to allow for larger batch sizes, additional testing specifications, or specific donor requirements.
