The principle of the Nucleofector™ Technology:

By applying electrical impulses, small pores are created in the cell membrane. An interplay of preprogrammed nucleofection protocols and coordinated reagents results in optimally adapted conditions for a successful transfection for the cell type used. The substrate is not only taken up by the cytoplasm, but also by the cell nucleus due to the optimized conditions. This process enables high transfection rates with an efficiency of up to 99%.

The technical innovations make it possible to use the proven Nucleofector technology on a larger scale: 10⁷ to 10⁹ cells.

Transfection protocols of the X-Unit (transfections on a smaller scale) can be adopted without additional optimization. The ease of transmission of the protocols has been tested for various cell types including human T cells, CHO-S, HEK293-S, or K562.

Nucleofector_II_Kit_Box

The Nucleofector Kits contain special transfection cuvettes, Nucleofector reagents (buffer and supplement) and the control plasmid pmaxGFP. The buffer and the associated supplement are specially optimized for the respective primary cells. Nucleofector reagents provide an optimal environment and enable the highest transfection rates and cell viability, while the physiological character and functions of the cells are preserved.
