Background: The EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor), also known as ErbB-1 and HER1, is a cell surface tyrosine kinase receptor belonging to the epidermal growth factor receptor family. Overexpression and/or hyperactivation of EGFR kinase is associated with several human cancers such as lung, glioblastoma, and epithelial tumors of the neck and head. This increased activity of EGFR has led to the development of anticancer therapeutics targeting EGFR. However, d746-750, T790M, and C797S mutations in EGFR can cause resistance to known EGFR inhibitors, requiring the development of next generation mutant-selective inhibitors.
Contraindications: The final concentration of DMSO in the assay should not exceed 1%.
