Description: Mouse recombinant LGALS8 produced E.coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 339 amino acids (1-316) and having a molecular mass of 38kDa. LGALS8 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus. LGALS8 is a prostate-specific antigen that is solely overexpressed in malignant tumors and thus is a supplementary specific identifier of malignancies. LGALS8 is part of the galectin gene family which facilitates both cell-cell and cell matrix interactions in a method parallel to the selectin subgroup of C-type lectins.
