Background: In immunoelectrophoresis against human EDTA plasma a single precipitin line is obtained in the beta-2 region. The antiserum does not react with any other protein component of human serum or plasma. In precipitating techniques for the identification and quantitative determination of properdin factor B in body fluids. The presence of non-precipitating antibodies has not been assayed. This does not exclude the use of the antiserum in more sensitive techniques if proper controls are included.
Source: Properdin factor B is a heat-labile serum protein active in the alternative complement activation pathway. It is binding to the C3b component of complement.The protein has a molecular weight of 92,000 and its mean concentration in human plasma is 200 μg/ml. It has been isolated as a homogenous protein for use in antiserum production. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Specificity: Precipitating polyclonal Goat antiSerum to Human properdin factor B
Formulation: Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized, stable whole serum. No preservative added. Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled normal goat serum. No foreign proteins added.
