Arvensis Bioscience specializes in the production of PCR consumables. As the first manufacturer using a plant-based biocomposite matrix instead of plastic made from fossil resources, Arvensis so-called B-frames have only half the carbon footprint compared to ordinary PCR plates. While the individual reaction wells are still made of low-binding polypropylene to prevent unwanted interactions between sample and well, the rigid frame is created from 100% sustainable resources.
As an alternative to the B-frames, Arvensis also offers conventional PCR plates: the A-frames. These plates also consist of two different materials: The wells consist of 100% virgin medical grade low bind polypropylene and fixed into a rigid polycarbonate frame, which is dimensionally stable and resistant to the mechanical stresses of thermal cycling. This ensures higher plate seal integrity, preventing sample loss that is common in in 1-component polypropylene PCR plates.
Each Arvensis product undergoes rigorous testing to ensure that all items meet the highest quality standards regarding integrity, stability and seal tightness. Furthermore, all consumables are certified free of DNase, RNase, nucleases and human gDNA.
Lastly Arvensis offers a range of additional PCR items, like 384-well plates, mats for sealing, strips and individual tubes. For high-throughput applications, Arvensis also offers custom bar coding solutions for their A-frame product line.
