Background: The CD103 antigen is a 160-130-105 kDa molecule which is expressed on mucosa-associated T lymphocytes and activated cells and on subset of TGF beta -1 cells. This human intra epithelial lymphocyte marker is the E integrin chain associated with the b7 subunit. CD103 antibody stains a few bone marrow cells and, rarely, peripheral blood lymphocytes. CD103 is expressed by 0.5 to 2 % of resting lymphocytes in Peripheral blood and lymphoid organs.
