Background: The p21waf1 tumor suppressor protein shows no cross reactivity with the closely related inhibitors .p21waf1 is a specific inhibitor of cdkÕs, and is a tumor suppressor involved in the pathogenesis of a number of malignancies including colon and breast carcinoma.
