Encompassing Amino Acids: 2-445(end)

Applications: Useful for studying protein binding and screening small molecules for drug discovery.

Background: MYLIP is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that mediates ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of myosin regulatory light chain (MRLC), LDLR, VLDLR and LRP8. Its activity depends on E2 enzymes of the UBE2D family. Proteasomal degradation of MRLC leads to inhibition of neurite outgrowth. Acts as a sterol-dependent inhibitor of cellular cholesterol uptake by mediating ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of LDLR.

Description: Human MYLIP, also known as Inducible Degrader of the LDL receptor (IDOL), GenBank Accession No. NM_013262, a.a. 2-445(end), with N-terminal His-FLAG-tag, MW=51.7 kDa, expressed in a baculovirus expression system.
