Applications: Screen and validate antibodies against PD-1 for drug discovery and researchScreen for compounds that regulate or inhibit PD-1 in a cellular contextOptimize and perform biological assays

Background: PD-1 (Programmed Death Protein 1, CD279) is a transmembrane protein expressed on the surface of immune cells that binds to PD-L1 or PD-L2, inducing apoptosis of T cells and inhibiting immune responses. Cancer cells often overexpress PD-L1 or PD-L2, allowing them to suppress T cell activation, evade the host immune response, and proliferate. Thus, disrupting the PD-1 co-inhibitory pathways may be an effective approach to developing anti-cancer therapies, as well as other immune diseases like multiple sclerosis, arthritis, lupus, and type I diabetes. The overexpression of PD-1 in this cell line allows for the study of PD-1 antibodies and other novel therapeutics.

Description: The PD-1 CHO cell line is a recombinant clonal stable CHO-K1 cell line constitutively expressing human PD-1 receptor (accession number: NM_005018). Surface expression of human PD-1 was confirmed by flow cytometry.

Host Cell Line: CHO-K1 cells, Chinese Hamster Ovary, epithelial-like cells, adherent

Mycoplasma Testing: The cell line has been screened to confirm the absence of Mycoplasma species.

Storage Stability: Cells are shipped in dry ice and should immediately be thawed or stored in liquid nitrogen upon receipt. Do not use a -80°C freezer for long term storage.

Supplied As: Each vial contains 2 x 106 cells in 1 ml of cell freezing medium (BPS Bioscience #79796)

Uniprot: Q9NZQ7

Warnings: Avoid freeze/thaw cycles

Biosafety Level: BSL-1
