Background: The reactivity of the antiserum is restricted to the Fc part of the IgA molecule. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion, using various antiserum concentrations against normal dog serum a single precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified IgA. No precipitation reaction is obtained with purified IgG, IgM, and IgG/Fab fragments. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgA in dog serum and other body fluids or to determine its concentration. To prepare an immunoadsorbent for the purification of dog IgA from serum or plasma. This antiserum does not discriminate between serum IgA (monomeric and dimeric) and higher molecular forms as secretory IgA.
Source: Highly purified normal IgA isolated from pooled dog serum. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Specificity: Precipitating polyclonal Rabbit antiSerum to Dog IgA, Fc specific.
Formulation: Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized, stable whole antiserum. No preservative added. Total protein and IgG concentrations in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled normal rabbit serum. No foreign proteins added.
