Clone: Polyclonal
Background: The defined antibody activity is directed to the various forms of thrombospondin. In bidimensional electrophoresis a single precipitin line is obtained with purified thrombospondin; with platelet lysate concentrate a slight precipitin line becomes visible. No precipitation is obtained with normal human serum. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis, single and double radial immunodiffusion Mancini, Ouchterlony), electroimmunodiffusion (Laurell) and neutralization assay. The presence of non-precipitating antibodies has not been assayed. This does not exclude use of the antiserum in non-precipitating antibody-binding techniques if proper controls are included.
Source: Thrombospondin, a glycoprotein, has been purified from platelet lysate. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Specificity: Precipitating polyclonal Rabbit antiSerum to Human thrombospondin.
Formulation: Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized, stable whole serum. Sodium azide 1 mg/ml. Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled normal rabbit serum. No foreign proteins added.
UniProt: P07996
Caution: This product is intended FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY, and FOR TESTS IN VITRO, not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving humans or animals. This product contains sodium azide. To prevent formation of toxic vapors, do not mix with strong acidic solutions. To prevent formation of potentially explosive metallic azides in metal plumbing, always wash into drain with copious quantities of water. This datasheet is as accurate as reasonably achievable, but Nordic-MUbio accepts no liability for any inaccuracies or omissions in this information.
