Abbreviation: CAVEOLIN2;CAV2
Target Synonym: CAV2;Caveolin-2;
Target Species: Human
Expression Host: E.coli
Fusion Tag: N-GST-His
UNIProt ID: P51636
Background: Caveolin-2 is a cell membrane-associated member of the caveolin family of proteins. Although its predicted MW is 17 kDa, it runs anomalously at 21?22 kDa on SDS?PAGE. Caveolin-2 is not ubiquitous, but it is found in divergent cell types such as smooth muscle, endothelial, and skeletal muscle cells, plus fibroblasts and adipocytes. When expressed alone, Caveolin-2 forms monomers and homodimers; when expressed with Caveolin-1, it exists as part of a 150 kDa, Caveolin-1 associated oligomeric complex.
Sequence: Met 1-Lys 86
Purity: > 95 % as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose, mannitol and 0.01% Tween80 are added as protectants before lyophilization.
