Protein Tag: N-His
Uniprot: A0A140LJ72
Accession: A0A140LJ72
Background: Mucin-16 is a heavily O-glycosylated protein that can be liberated into the extracellular space following the phosphorylation of the intracellular C-terminus, which induces proteolytic cleavage and liberation of extracellular domain. I provides protective, lubricating barrier against particles and infectious agents at mucosal surfaces. Mucin-16 is composed of three domains: a Serine, Threonine-rich N-terminal domain, a repeated domain containing between 12 and 60 partially conserved tandem repeats of 156 amino acids and a C-terminal transmembrane domain with a short cytoplasmic tail.
Bio Acitivity: Not validated for activity
Sequence: Ile 6188-Ser 6372
Purity: > 95% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
Normally 5%-8% trehalose, mannitol and 0.01% Tween 80 are added as protectants before lyophilization.
Please refer to the specific buffer information in the printed manual.
Reconstitution: It is recommended that sterile water be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of 0.5 mg/mL. Concentration is measured by UV-Vis.
Endotoxin: < 10 EU/mg of the protein as determined by the LAL method.
Calculated MW: 20.2 kDa
Observed MW: 25 kDa
