CloneID: MAC1

Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with recombinant lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (rLCMV)/MACV-GP and boosted with recombinant Pichinde virus (rPICV)/Junin virus (JUNV)-GP and rPICV/MACV-GP.

Buffer Composition: PBS only.

Uniprot Accession No.: Q6IUF7

Specificity Statement: This antibody binds the TfR1 binding site in the glycoprotein GP1 of Machupo virus (MACV), which belongs to genus Mammarenavirus, family Arenaviridae. New World (NW) hemorrhagic fever (HF) arenaviruses are a group of rodent-borne zoonotic pathogens that cause severe disease with high case fatality rates upon transmission into human populations. Machupo mammarenavirus is the causative agent for Bolivian hemorrhagic fever (BHF), also known as black typhus or Ordog Fever.

Application Notes (Clone): This antibody is highly specific for binding to Machupo virus and does not cross react with Junin virus. This antibody is capable of binding MACV in an ELISA. This antibody neutralized HIV-1-based virus particles, pseudotyped with full-length MACV GP and rLCMV/MACV-GP chimeric viruses in an in vitro neutralization assay with an IC50 of 0.004 μg/mL and 13.0 μg/mL respectively (PMID: 35315691).
