Specificity Statement: This antibody binds a spatial epitope of the severe fever and thrombocytopenic syndrome virus glycoprotein N. This antibody also cross reacts with SFTSV-related Guertu virus (GTV) and Heartland virus (HRTV). Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging infectious disease caused by the SFTS virus which is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected tick. Most patients have symptoms such as fever, low platelet count and leukopenia, and may also have symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, muscle pain, lymphatic enlargement, and bleeding. Recently, first case of human-to-human transmission of SFTS virus was reported in Japan.

Application Notes (Clone): This antibody could recognize SFTSV-infected cells and eukaryotic expression of SFTSV-Gn protein through immunofluorescence assay. This antibody also demonstrates neutralizing activity against SFTS virus of different genotypes and also the SFTSV-related Guertu virus (GTV) and Heartland virus (HRTV) by targeting a spatial epitope of Gn. The IC50 of this antibody against different SFTSV genotypes was HBZN15 (C1, 2.015 ng/mL), WCH (C4, 4.360 ng/mL), HBMC5 (C3, 5.940 ng/mL), HBGS13 (C2, 7.506 ng/mL). The IC50 against HRTV and GTV was 13.12 ng/mL and 8.140 ng/mL, respectively. This antibody also showed therapeutic effect in mice infected with different genotypes of SFTSV strains against death by preventing the development of lesions and by promoting virus clearance in tissues.showed therapeutic effect in mice infected with different genotypes of SFTSV strains against death by preventing the development of lesions and by promoting virus clearance in tissues.
