Purity and Specificity: This product is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Peroxidase (Horseradish). Cross-reactivity against Peroxidase from other tissues and species may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Background: Peroxidase described as the removal of hydrogen peroxide, oxidation of toxic reductants, biosynthesis and degradation of lignin, suberization, auxin catabolism, a response to environmental stresses such as wounding, a and pathogen attack and oxidative stress. These functions might be dependent on each isozyme/isoform in each plant tissue.
