Notes: BAY-069 is an inhibitor of branched-chain amino acid transaminase 1 (BCAT1) and BCAT2 (IC50s = 31 and 153 nM, respectively).{51814} It is selective for BCAT1 and BCAT2 over a panel of 77 enzymes, receptors, and transporters at 10 µM. BAY-069 increases the levels of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) in U87MG brain and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells (IC50s = 358 and 874 nM, respectively) but not in the presence of human serum albumin (HSA) or BSA (IC50s = >50 µM for both).
