Description of Target: Streptavidin is a bacterial protein (from Streptomyces avidinii) that has an exceptionally high binding affinity for biotin. Beta-galactosidase, also called beta-gal, is a hydrolase enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of beta-galactosides into monosaccharides. This Streptavidin is conjugated to beta galactosidase.

Molecular Weight: 116 kDa

Product Format: Liquid (sterile filtered)

Purification: This product was prepared from electrophoretically pure Streptavidin.

Specificity#: Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-beta galactosidase (E.coli) and anti-Streptavidin. No reaction was observed against anti-Avidin.
