siRNA gene silencers are provided as a pool of 3 target-specific 19-25 nucleotides (nt) long siRNAs. Each vial is designed to target specifically the gene of interest. The provided amount is sufficient for 50 – 100 transfections.
shRNA gene silencer plasmids are offered as a mixture of 3-5 lentiviral plasmids. Each plasmid encodes 19-25 nt (plus 6bp “hairpin loop) shRNA sequence. The product contains 20 µg transfection-ready plasmid DNA which is sufficient for up to 20 transfections. shRNA plasmids enable transient or stable (after puromycin selection) knockdown.
shRNA lentiviral particles are supplied as a pool consisting of 3-5 expression constructs. Each individual lentiviral plasmid encodes 19-25 nt short shRNA (plus 6 bp “hairpin-loop”). Cells expressing the desired shRNA, can be selected via the addition of puromycin. Each vial contains 200 µl with 106 infectious lentiviral particles, providing up to 10-20 transductions. Addition of copGFP lentiviral particles to target cells might serve as a control of transduction efficacy. Our lentiviral particles are incapable of replicating and are designed to inactivate themselves after transduction and integration into the genomic DNA of the host cell.
