In Situ hybridization (ISH)

In situ hybridization allows detection and localization of specific DNA or RNA sequences based on labelled complementary probes. The widely used and recognized ISH technique uses digoxigenin (DIG), a small steroid derived molecule. Digoxigenin labelled hybridization probes can be specifically detected with antibodies.
