Encompassing Amino Acids: 1-21

Amino Acid Sequence: ARTKQTAR-K(Me1)-STGGKAPRKQLA-K(Biotin)

Applications: Suitable as a substrate for histone demethylases belonging to the Jumonji (JMJ) family. It can be used to study enzyme kinetics, and to screen small molecular inhibitors of these demethylases for drug discovery and HTS applications.

Background: Lys9 monomethylated histone H3 is associated with silent chromatin domains in euchromatin. This monomethylated state is also the preferred substrate for Suv39h1 and Suv39h2, the methyltransferases that catalyze Lys9 trimethylation.

Description: Histone H3 peptide (a.a. 1-21), mono-methylated at Lysine 9 followed by a biotinylated Lys at its C-terminus.

Format: Aqueous buffer solution

Genbank: NM_003532

Purity: ≥95% by HPLC
